Austin Winds Ballanced Ballad #1 Bb Trumpet
Our flagship model - The Balanced Ballad #1 is a complete redesign and is designed to complement our Stage 470LT. This horn, unlike our Stage 470LT, is not intended to be an all around trumpet. It is designed to be a mellow, very dark, fluid playing trumpet for intimate studio and small ensemble situations - perfect for the dark, smokey jazz clubs.
Specs for Balanced Ballad #1:
- Heavy tube leadpipe design and mouthpiece receiver for high efficiency
- Braced tuning slide and bell bend with our balanced Tai Chi (Yin and Yang) design
- Extra large bell flair in red brass with a nice natural patina beneath the lacquer (custom finishes available)
- Large .466" bore
- Stainless steel pistons (harder to manufacture, but more durable than monel)
- Extra Heavy finger buttons, stems, top caps and bottom caps
- Improved amado style water keys (functionally superior to past designs)
- Extra Heavy

Austin Winds Ballanced Ballad #2 Bb Trumpet
The Balanced Ballad 2 is based on our Balance Ballad 1 design, it has a more standard bell taper and excels in both classical and commercial playing styles. This horn is very effi cient due to its heavy bracing, leadpipe and trim with very secure slotting. While not as dark sounding as the Balanced Ballad 1, it does maintain a dark, full sound suitable for all playing styles and situations.

Austin Winds Stage 466 Bb Trumpet
The Stage 466 is a free blowing, minimally braced trumpet with a consistant tone and feel throughout all registers and volumes. It is equally at home in a classical setting and a jazz/commercial setting. Unlike our Stage 470LT that has chameleon-like qualities depending on how hard it is pushed, our Stage 466 maintains its tone and playing characteristics throughout its range.

- Minimal bracing keeping the horn free to vibrate

- Polished/brushed clear lacquer finish(custom finishes available)

Austin Winds Stage 470LT Series Bb Trumpets
- Handcrafted in the USA with hand-fitted slides and monel pistons
- Large .470 bore for a big, full sound that won’t break up when pushed hard
- Slightly larger 5 1/16" bell to match the high volume of air
- Reverse leadpipe for an open, unobstructed feel
- Standard lightweight bell for quicker response (this feature also seems to counteract the dull sound usually associated with bronze or copper bells)
- Minimal bracing keeping the horn free to vibrate
- Heavy extended mouthpiece receiver to concentrate the energy at the entry point of the horn for maximum efficiency. (Some non-standard mouthpieces may not seat properly. Known models that do not fit properly; Monette STC, Hammond Symphonic)
- Standard and medium weight bottom valve caps included
- Removable end slide on the 3rd valve slide instead of a water key to minimize air turbulence
- Standard water key on the main slide for ease of use and quick water release (Amado keys optional)
- Two sets of interchangeable valve springs standard – 1 set for a light, quick feel, 1 set for a rigid, secure feel
